The Rose that Grew from Concrete by Tupac Amaru Shakur

Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

Tupac Shakur, the multi-talented legend, was born in the Bronx, New York on June 16, 1971 and died in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 13, 1996.

Pac's lyrics always went deep into the meaning of many political and social subjects. He is universally considered by many to be the greatest rapper of all time.

Pac was well read as noted by his extensive reading list. Pac's poetry also reflected his many sides, some poems were motivated by love, some sought self-understanding and others were angry responses to the cruel injustices of society.

Pac was down to die for everything he represented.

He was very open and always expressed his mind. Some people consider Pac a modern-day prophet.

...give me a paper and a pen
so I can write about my life of sin
a couple bottles of Gin
incase I don't get in
tell all my people i'm a Ridah
nobody cries when we die
we outlaws
let me ride
until I get free
I live my life in tha fast lane
...

Probing the Next Frontier
There is this.... arresting quality to committing to a project, a kind of luxury that scorns ordinary luxuries.

Paralyzed by nostalgia, in the warm womb of my office, I take a lip-wetting swig and smile - as I file away the new galvanized YMBK five year business plan.

“...my feet is my only carriage...” Bob Marley

In 2009 YAMBUKA grew at over twice the rate the original tentative business plan had prophesized.

The YMBK Winter Apparel Project was groundbreaking and the sales were very positive. Over the past two months we have managed to astutely re-analyze and redevelop the YAMBUKA engine and we have stumbled upon a more competitive entrepreneurial answer, fueled by a creative triumph of style and ease, subtly but surgically steered by a tantalizing blend of boyish vision and perpetual paternal hope (YES...WE CAN).

“...we wants it, we needs it, must have the precious...” Gollum

The 2010 challenge with quadrupling budgets, streamlining payroll, diversifying the BRAND whilst investing in process efficiencies, is that it ELEVATES ‘the game’. My 2010 decision making epiphany has been that every cause has an effect but more importantly, every one of these effects has an effect. Its all about the bigger picture.

Conceptually, this is mind boggling (seriously)because, the reverse is also true, doing nothing has an effect that also has an effect.

Never before, and surely never again will this convergence of positive energizes tickle me the way that I am tickled today. Reality is anti-climatic...come dream with me, we can OVERCOME!

YAMBUKA is ALIVE!

Onwards! Upwards! Always!
