Poet, Author, Social ActivistWhat does YAMBUKA mean to you? Describe a situation you had obstacles to OVERCOME. I’ve had to
overcome many obstacles but perhaps the two biggest would have to be losing my mother to
suicide and my only sibling to German Measles all at the age of five, and then later in life having to be
separated from my own children for a while.

What are your goals for 2012? To be all I can be, have
my memoir out, expand my business. Be the best
MOM I can be.
Who are your personal influences/mentors/blueprints/idols?Stacey Ann Chin, a Jamaican poet and activist. Annette Billings, a friend and poet.

What’s your definition of happiness?Feeling weightless and free.
If today was your last day, what would you say to the world? “I came, I saw, I conquered”
Where do your see yourself in 5 years? Everywhere and anywhere
the wind leads me.

What’s your vision for a perfect society? Complete
tolerance and
acceptance, and above all,
